Joe Omielan

University of Kentucky, Agronomy. Developed protocols for experiments in KY, FL and GA. Coordinated data communications and data analysis across multiple locations and years. Led data acquisition and analysis in KY field trials.  Coordinated and managed the yield loss prediction website development.  Gathered, organized and analyzed fungicide trial data for use in validation of yield loss prediction tool. Fit model to ‘light’ and ‘moderate’ epidemic scenarios. Coordinated and designed protocols for validation studies in FL and GA.

Louisiana State University, Crop Physiologist. Designed experiments conducted in KY, LA and Brazil. Active contributor to research activities and model development. Designed validation study in LA. Led field protocol determination for defoliation studies conducted in KY and LA. Crop physiology advisor for SBR yield loss prediction project.

Embrapa soja, Brazil, Plant Pathologist. Designed and conducted the model and model validation studies conducted in Brazil. Active contributor to research activities and model development. Initiated development of β coefficient for soybean rust. Evaluated disease severity for multiple studies conducted in Brazil and in KY. Pathology advisor for SBR yield loss prediction project.
